We carried out the site remediation for the preparation of two retail units at the site of the former Ford service centre off Portway in Preston for the Marshall Construction Group.

The works required the removal of all the former building slabs and foundations, concrete service yards and tarmac car parks and access roads.

The concrete was taken up and processed on site for reuse in the earthworks.

The tarmac was taken off site to a local recycling facility.

A cut and fill exercise was undertaken to produce the required building platforms and associated external service yards.

A free draining car park was formed as part of the works using a reduced fines type 1 material.

In total over 12000 m3 of spoil was taken off site as part of the works. Over 5000 m3 of concrete was processed on site and reused and 6000 tonnes of the free draining stone was imported for use.

The first phase of the works were undertaken from March to June 2023 with a return to complete the car park in November 2023.
